Anubis the Egyptian god considered to be the Patron of Embalming and Protector of tombs and mummification. The statue of Anubis in the form of jackal was placed in the entrance facing the burial chamber of the Pharaoh to guard the king in the afterlife. Anubis protected the deceased and guides him to the tribunal of judgment, where the judgment is performed and the deceasedís heart is weighed against a feather to determine his acceptance in to the new life.
