The statue of Anubis in the form of jackel was placed in the entrance facing the burial chamber of the Pharaoh to guard the king in the after life. Anubis protected the deceased and guides him to the tribunal of judgment, where the judgment is performed and the deceased’s heart is weighed against a feather to determine his acceptance in to the new life.
